Programming and Customizing PICmicro® Microcontrollers CD-ROM

YAP-II PICmicro MCU programmer

Thank you for buying this book.

In order to make it as easy to use as possible as well as being the most effective PICmicro reference possible, I have created this html interface which includes:

For more current information, I recommend that you periodically look at my web page as well as the web pages presented in the book and on this CD-ROM. As hard as I try, I know that there will be mistakes and typos in this book. Corrections will be listed and download links will be provided on my web page. Along with errata, you should check my web page for new projects and information. If you have found any useful sites that you think I should list, please send me an email with the link.

One of the concerns that I received from the first edition of this book ("Programming and Customizing the PIC Microcontroller") was that I did not include any information for beginner programmers and electronic designers. In order to rectify this situation, I have included two appendices, which for space reasons have been stored on this CD-ROM as Adobe Acrobat "pdf" files. Introduction to Electronics provides basic information about electronics and designing circuits. In this appendix, I have focussed primarily on digital digital electronics, with some information on analog electronics. The second appendix, Introduction to Programming will give you a background into programming as well as reference information for "C", "BASIC" and "Visual Basic". Neither appendix is designed to provide you with all the information that is required to become an expert in developing hardware and software applications, but they will give you the basics and help you understand what is being explained in the text of the book as well as give you reference information for your own application development.

For more information about this CD-ROM and the files contained in it, take a look at the "readme.txt". This file also contains copyright information and instructions on how to copy the files from this CD-ROM onto your PC's hard file manually.

When you are ready to load the application onto your PC's hard file, click Here for instructions and automated tools.

This second edition would not have been possible except for the enthusiasm and suggestions of many people that wanted to make this the best PICmicro information and project reference possible. I am very interested in hearing what you have to say about the book and I have been keeping track of corrections and passing them along to McGraw-Hill for future printings. I look forward to hearing from you and seeing what kind of PICmicro projects you come up with!
